BAR COUNCIL OF DELHI: SH. SURYA PRAKASH KHATRI, ADVOCATE APPOINTED NEW CHAIRMAN 2024

Congratulations to Mr. Surya Prakash Khatri, Advocate on being appointed as Chairman of Bar Council of Delhi (BCD). As per official notification dated on 08.04.2024.

Bar Council of Delhi: The Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) is an autonomous statutory body constituted under Advocates Act, 1961 with and having wide varied powers, functions and duties. The Bar Council of Delhi is required to discharge statutory duties under the Advocates Act, 1961, Advocates’ Welfare Fund Act, 2001, Bar Council of India Rules and other Rules.

▪️Mr. Surya Prakash Khatri was enrolled as an advocate in 1990. He is a practicing advocate of civil/criminal both sides in Hon’ble Delhi High Court and districts courts of Delhi. 

▪️Mr. Khatri was elected as a member of Bar Council of Delhi in 1998. Mr. Khatri was the Honorary secretary in 1998, and 2000-2003. 

▪️He was elected unopposed as the Vice Chairman from 2006-2008 later and he was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Bar Council of Delhi in 2013-2014.

▪️He was also an elected member of executive committee of Delhi University. He is admired both as an advocate and also as favourite leader among the Bar. He also contested elections of Delhi.
